Sibling DNA Test

The sibling test makes it possible to determine whether two people share the same biological father by analysing their DNA. This type of study is usually carried out when it is not possible to test the alleged father and you wish to investigate whether two individuals could be biological siblings.
The analysis is based on the study of autosomal STR genetic markers, the same DNA regions used in paternity and maternity tests. Each person inherits half of their genetic material from their mother and the other half from their father.

In this scenario, the two people share only one parent, in this case the biological father, while the mothers are different.
