Por esta raz\u00f3n se le denomina \u201c<strong>Trisom\u00eda 21<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ante este panorama, <strong>lo que posee el ni\u00f1o o ni\u00f1a con s\u00edndrome de Down son un total de 47 cromosomas<\/strong>, respecto a los habituales 46 de cualquier otro individuo.<\/p>\n<p>Este tipo de estructura cromos\u00f3mica, junto con el material gen\u00e9tico extra presente en estos individuos, <strong>da como resultado las m\u00faltiples dolencias cong\u00e9nitas de estos ni\u00f1os<\/strong>. Por ejemplo, los problemas de coraz\u00f3n que muchos de ellos tienen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-16317 size-full\" title=\"sindrome_down_prueba_fetal\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/kids-2639869_640.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"426\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/myadnlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/kids-2639869_640.jpg 426w, https:\/\/myadnlab.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/kids-2639869_640-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 426px) 100vw, 426px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pese a que<strong> el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sindromedown.net\/sindrome-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">s\u00edndrome de Down<\/a> se manifiesta en muy pocos embarazos<\/strong>, existen algunos factores que pueden facilitar su aparici\u00f3n. El principal consiste en la edad de la madre: <strong>las mujeres de m\u00e1s de 35 a\u00f1os tienen un mayor riesgo de padecer un embarazo con s\u00edndrome de Down<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, los padres, tanto mujeres como hombres, que dispongan de anomal\u00edas en sus cromosomas, tambi\u00e9n suelen presentar m\u00e1s predisposici\u00f3n para ello. De todas formas, se debe decir que esto <strong>no es sintom\u00e1tico ni quiere decir que el s\u00edndrome de Down sea hereditario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Por suerte, existen diversas pruebas que facilitan<strong> la detecci\u00f3n precoz del s\u00edndrome de Down<\/strong> en los fetos de forma prenatal. La gran mayor\u00eda de las pruebas no son invasivas y a partir de los 35 a\u00f1os, muchas mujeres se someten a ellas de forma habitual.<\/p>\n<h2>La relaci\u00f3n entre las pruebas de ADN y los s\u00edndromes cromos\u00f3micos<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Las <a href=\"\/prueba-paternidad-prenatal-embarazo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pruebas de ADN prenatales<\/a> no invasivas<\/strong> se han convertido en uno de los m\u00e9todos m\u00e1s utilizados y m\u00e1s \u00fatiles para detectar tanto el s\u00edndrome de Down, como el Edward (trisom\u00eda 18) y el de Patau (trisom\u00eda 13).<\/p>\n<p>Esta prueba se denomina, concretamente, <a href=\"\/paternidad-prenatal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>prueba de ADN fetal<\/strong><\/a> y puede tambi\u00e9n <strong>puede identificar otras anomal\u00edas de los cromosomas sexuales X e Y<\/strong>, las cuales son m\u00e1s comunes y frecuentes. Cualquier mujer se puede someter a ella a partir de la d\u00e9cima semana de gestaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h2>Caracter\u00edsticas de la Prueba Prenatal No Invasiva del S\u00edndrome de Down (NIPT)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Esta prueba se caracteriza por no ser nada invasiva, ni con el feto ni con el cuerpo de la mujer, pues s\u00f3lo precisa de una sencilla y com\u00fan extracci\u00f3n de sangre de la madre<\/strong>. Por este motivo se ha constituido como una de las mejores alternativas a la amniocentesis.<\/p>\n<p>No obstante, <strong>muchas veces se olvida que esta prueba es de detecci\u00f3n y no de diagn\u00f3stico<\/strong>, como s\u00ed que lo es la prueba anteriormente mencionada (amniocentesis). De todas formas, puede llegar a evitar que las futuras madres se sometan a \u00e9stas.<\/p>\n<p>La <a href=\"\/como-se-hacen-pruebas-adn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">muestra de sangre extra\u00edda de la embarazada<\/a> es analizada por profesionales m\u00e9dicos, los cuales establecen la relaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica de la madre y, por ende, del feto. <strong>Esta prueba detecta anomal\u00edas en los cromosomas X e Y, como ya hemos dicho, 13, 18 y 21, as\u00ed como microdeleciones<\/strong>. Estas microdeleciones se caracterizan por ser trastornos gen\u00e9ticos, los cuales vienen provocados por p\u00e9rdidas, en su mayor\u00eda peque\u00f1as, en el material cromos\u00f3mico durante el embarazo.<\/p>\n<p>Otra ventaja es que cualquier mujer puede llevar a cabo este tipo de prueba, la NIPT, sin necesidad de tener riesgos.
